DIRECTED INDEPENDENT STUDY (DIS)

DIS includes additional internship, home study, and specific, independently designed projects. Students may choose to work in various areas including research, life correlation studies, community outreach programs, or health center designs. DIS must be approved and assisted by a staff member. This is offered solely to ASIS students and alumni. This program is not approved by the Veteran’s Administration.

Students must design a program that is relevant to massage therapy, which will promote massage therapy as a profession with populations in need of safe conscious touch therapies.

CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS:

1. Documentation of hours completed
2. A written conclusion or report signed by chosen staff member
3. Regular check in meetings with staff who is sponsoring the project
4. Paid in full
