REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology as Therapy:

Is a scientific art that deals with the principle that there are reflex areas on the hands, feet, and ears that correspond to every gland, organ and structure in the human body.  The word “reflex” has been defined as an involuntary response to stimuli, or a mirror image, both of which are applicable in the definition of Reflexology. The human body is represented as a microcosm, a smaller self-contained system on the hands, feet, and ears.  By gently palpating or applying pressure using various techniques to these reflex areas, a physiological change takes place in the body that promotes deep relaxation and enhances wellness. This natural healing art of stimulating the body’s own healing process allows for both physical and emotional well-being.

Reflexology is safe, nurturing touch that is both non-invasive and completely holistic. An individual is looked upon as a “whole” person rather than simply addressing anyone particular area of disharmony.  Reflexology sessions have many benefits. They relieve tension and stress, promote deep relaxation, improve circulation, increase oxygen and nutrient supply, detoxify, reduce pain, help with elimination, and provide an increased sense of well-being, vitality and quality of life. Overall they bring about homeostasis, helping all chemical functions of the body.
